The 2014 Winter Olympics ended in heart break for United States women’s hockey forward Julie Chu after Team USA lost to Canada in the gold medal match on Thursday, but there was a nice consolation prize announced on Friday that should help Chu feel a little better.
It was announced that the 31-year-old four-time Olympic medalist will get the honor of carrying the stars and stripes as the U.S. flag bearer in the Sochi Closing Ceremony.

Chu has never won a gold medal in her career — three silver and one bronze — but she is still thrilled to represent the United States as they take their final steps in Sochi for the Winter Games.
It is a well-deserved honor for Chu and a great way for her to cap off her Olympic career.
Thank you everyone for the overwhelming support this entire Olympic Games. I am so blessed to be a part of this team. My sisters #TeamFirst
