Sochi Olympics: Team USA takes silver in men’s 5000m relay


After a miserable showing in speedskating and on the short track for the United States in the 2014 Winter Olympics, Team USA has finally reached the medal podium with a second-place finish in the men’s 5000m relay on Friday afternoon.

The United States brought home the silver medal thanks to performances from J.R. Celski, Jordan Malone, Eddy Alvarez and Chris Creveling to end their Sochi Games on a high note.

Gold medal went to host nation Russia with an Olympic record time in the event, while China finished off a solid dday on the short track with the bronze medal.
