The short track competitions in the 2014 Winter Olympics are just about in the books and Viktor Ahn of Russia was able to end his Sochi run on a high note with his second gold medal of the Winter Games.

Ahn made a late charge in the men’s 500m to capture the gold medal for the host nation.

With the latest gold medal, which was the fifth of his Olympic career, Ahn becomes the first skater to win all four individual events in Olympic short track history.

China’s Wu Dajing, who Ahn passed on the final lap, finished in second-place to earn silver, while Canada’s Charle Cournoyer took home the gold.
