Erin Andrews is trending again this weekend thanks to 50 Cent showing up at Daytona 500 on the one year anniversary of his awkward kiss with the sportscaster, but she’s quickly changing the subject with some interesting news. On the day that it was announced that ABC had fired Dancing with the Stars co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet, the network has hired Andrews to be her replacement.
The Big Lead is reporting that the FOX Sports reporter has been named the new co-host of the popular dancing show and will be a part of the upcoming season.
Erin Andrews, the Fox Sports sideline reporter, is going to be the new co-host of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, two sources tell The Big Lead. The network is expected to make the announcement Monday. An ABC spokesperson didn’t return a call Saturday evening seeking comment.
ABC announced Friday that Brooke Burke, who had been Tom Bergeron’s co-host on DWTS for the last seven seasons, would be leaving the show.
It’s an interesting move to say the least, but one that makes plenty of sense. Andrews is synonymous with sports and class, and Dancing with the Stars is one of the classiest reality contests on television and consistently books athletes to be contestants.
TheBigLead states that Andrews will remain with FOXSports and will be doing Dancing with the Stars on the side.
