Veteran forward Danny Granger was not happy when the Indiana Pacers traded him to the Philadelphia 76ers earlier this week, partly because Granger had a special place in his heart for the Pacers organization – partly because he was going from a title contender to one of the worst teams in the NBA.
Granger wants to be bought out, though, Philadelphia 76ers general manager Sam Hinkie may want to keep him under contract for potential sign-and-trade scenarios at season end.
If Granger is bought out though, he’s expected to have his choice of suitors which could include the Miami Heat, as Basketball Insider’s Susan Bible hints.
Miami and San Antonio are the two potential landing spots. Yeah, Miami needs another scorer, right? So to answer your question, I’d say the chances of him signing with the Spurs are right around 50%.
As Bible suggests, the Spurs would be another option though you have to think Miami would be quite intriguing considering they’re all but setup to see Granger’s former team, the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals.
