UFC 170 Fight Pass prelims results: Erik Koch TKO's Rafaello Oliveira early; Ernest Chavez earns split decision victory over Yosdenis Cedeno

The UFC 170 card is headlined by the Women’s Bantamweight title bout between Ronda Rousey and Sara McMann. Before those two step into the Octagon, the prelims will set the tone for the show.

The UFC has set up an exciting preliminary card on UFC Fight Pass and Fox Sports 1. Below is the full coverage of the two UFC Fight Pass prelim fights. The first fight of the night features the UFC debuts of Yosdenis Cedeno and Ernest Chavez. The main event of the Fight Pass prelims features Erik Koch’s UFC debut at Lightweight. He takes on the Brazilian, Rafaello Oliveira.

Erik Koch vs Rafaello Oliveira

Koch knocked down Oliveira in the first minute, but Oliveira got right back to his feet and landed a nice body kick. Koch landed a hard left hand to knock down Oliveira again. Koch landed beautifully accurate ground and pound and the ref was forced to stop it. Great performance by Koch in his return to the Lightweight division.
Official Decision: Erik Koch defeats Rafaello Oliveira by TKO Round 1 (1:24)

Yosdenis Cedeno vs Ernest Chavez

Cedeno started the fight strong on the feet, controlling the distance with savvy strikes. Chavez was on the defensive for most of the round before getting Cedeno on the mat and directly into side control. Chavez got the mount and back control, but Cedeno was able to get back to his feet before the round ended. Round 2 started off with Cedeno utilizing leg kicks to slow Chavez down. After Cedeno missed a head kick, Chavez took him down and was landing some solid ground and pound. Cedeno fought to his feet, and they were clinched on the fence for a bit. The round ended with a Cedeno front kick. The third round was a much slower pace as Chavez stalked Cedeno before clinching him on the fence. Chavez did nothing with the position and the ref broke them off the fence. On the break, Cedeno landed two very nice head kicks and seemingly found a second wind. The fight ended with Chavez clinching Cedeno on the fence.
Official Decision: Ernst Chavez defeats Yosdenis Cedeno by Split Decision (30-27, 29-28, 28-29)
