Houston Rockets' Patrick Beverley almost goes after taunting fan (Video)

The Houston Rockets suffered a three-point loss to the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night, but had it not been for Omer Asik, they may have lost a lot more.

With the Rockets trailing by three in overtime, point guard Patrick Beverley fouled out and made his way towards the bench.

Everything looked relatively normal until you look towards the top of the below video where you can see a fan, dressed in Golden State Warriors gear (and double fisting, because why not) giving lip service to Beverley as he walked towards his seat on the bench.

The young point guard seemed to keep his cool for a moment but it appears a magic word or phrase was uttered because Beverley then turned around and began making his way towards the fan, who was likely within punching range.

Seeing what was taking place, center Omer Asik grabbed Beverley and forced him away from the taunting fan just in the nick of time.

And just to think – Asik wouldn’t have been there to stop the potential ruckus had he been traded.
