The Brooklyn Nets will be shorthanded as they face the Los Angeles Lakers to conclude their road back-to-back.
Kevin Garnett (rest), Shaun Livingston (tailbone), and Marcus Thornton (illness) will be out tonight as the Nets look to recover from their loss to the Golden State Warriors last night.
Garnett totaled just 20 minutes in the losing effort last night. Finishing with 6 points and 7 rebounds.
Livingston played just 12 minutes due to injuring his tailbone. He had 4 points and 3 rebounds before his night was cut short.
Marcus Thornton, who was acquired prior to the trade deadline for Jason Terry and Reggie Evans, has been battling a case of food poisoning. He has yet to debut for the Nets.
The Nets (25-28) are one of many teams in the East battling for one of the final four spots. With these three players out, the Nets must still find a way to beat a Kobe-less Lakers team.
On the season Garnett has averaged just 6.8 points and 6.7 rebounds in 21.3 minutes of action.
Livingston, who has taken over as one of the starting guards has averaged 7.7 points, 3.1 assists, and 3.2 rebounds this season.
In 46 games with the Kings, Thornton has averaged 8.3 points in 24.4 minutes of action.
Tipoff against the Lakers is at 9 pm ET.
