Yankees' Derek Jeter likely to make debut vs Pirates

New York Yankees future Hall of Fame shortstop, Derek Jeter will be looking to finish his career strong. I’m not a fan of the New York Yankees, but I’ve always been a fan of good ole’ number two. Jeter is hands down one of my favorite baseball players of all time, and that’s coming from a Chicago Cubs fans.

There’s no doubt that Jeter is the greatest shortstop to ever play the game, not taking anything away from Cal Ripken. Now according to The LoHud Yankees Blog, Derek Jeter may be making his 2014 Spring Training debut on Thursday against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Yankees will be taking on a college team this Tuesday, but Jeter won’t be competing in that scrimmage. He may end up warming up with the rest of his teammates before they take the field on Tuesday. Hopefully Jeter will be able to keep himself off of the disabled list.

I’m sure he would rather finish the year healthy, not limited and possibly missing the playoffs than spending more than 30 days on the disabled list.

I really hope this year goes by slow.
