After flipping 3-star offensive tackle Ronnie Major from the rival Baylor Bears over the weekend, the Texas Longhorns landed another commitment on Monday.
3-star defensive end Charles Omenihu committed to the Longhorns Monday.
Omenihu, like Major, attended the Longhorns’ Junior Day and received an offer from head coach Charlie Strong.
“This is really a place I wanted to come visit, take a look at, I liked what I saw,” Omenihu said shortly after receiving his offer via Horns 24/7. “I feel like this could really be somewhere I want to go.”
The 6’5, 220-pound Omenihu, who attends Rowlett High School in Rowlett, Texas, is excited about Strong and defensive line coach Chris Rumph
“I like his style,” Omenihu said. “I like the way he does things. We’re building a relationship and I’d like to play for him a lot.”
Omenihu is ranked as the 38th best weak side defensive end prospect, the 114th best overall prospect in Texas and the 827th best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
