All eyes on Monday morning at the 2014 NFL Scouting Combine were on South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, and rightfully so. For so long, we’ve all heard the stories of the freakish athleticism that he displays while on the practice field, and now it would finally be on full display.
And was that athleticism ever on display Monday.
In his first attempt at the 40-yard dash, Clowney clocked in at an amazing 4.47 seconds, which would have been good enough for sixth among running backs in the draft class, the guys that get paid to mainly–well, run.

Then, if that wasn’t amazing enough, Clowney followed that up in his second attempt with an amazing run that wasn’t that too far off, coming in at 4.48.

There’s no doubt in the NFL scouts’ minds after today that Clowney is one of the more athletic, freakish athletes to enter the NFL in quite some time.
