Justin Gilbert plans on 'blowing it up' at NFL Combine

The defensive backs get their chance to shine at the NFL Combine in the final day of the event in Indianapolis and former Oklahoma State Cowboys cornerback Justin Gilbert is anxiously awaiting his opportunity to put on a show for the NFL and move up NFL teams’ draft boards and he’s comparing himself to one of the best of all-time.

Former NFL scout Daniel Jeremiah weighed in on Gilbert last week saying “I believe Gilbert has a legitimate shot at running the fastest 40-yard dash. … After studying him on tape, I was very impressed by both his explosiveness and fluidity. … I won’t be surprised if he logs a 40 in the low 4.3s, jumps close to 40 inches and produces impressive three-cone and 20-yard-shuttle times.”

Dri Archer has the fastest 40 time at the combine with 4.26, which was .02 shy of tying the combine record held by Chris Johnson, he ran on Sunday, but at 6-feet and 200-pounds a low 4.3 number from Gilbert would be more impressive considering he’s 25 pounds heavier than Archer.

Could that time be enough to move him past Darqueze Dennard for the distinction of being the top cornerback in the draft?
