The defensive linemen will be taking the field on Monday in Indianapolis for the 2014 NFL Scouting Combine. Unfortunately for Notre Dame’s Stephon Tuitt, he will be unable to work out due to a fractured bone in his foot.

Tuitt will now the next six to eight weeks while he recovers from surgery.

From Daniel Jeremiah of NFL.com:

"A second source confirmed that Tuitt was not medically cleared to participate. The injury — a Jones fracture — was revealed in a scan administered at the combine.Tuitt plans to undergo surgery on his foot in about a week, the first source said, and is expected to fully recover in 6-8 weeks. He might try to schedule a pro day for NFL scouts before his surgery."

Tuitt is a potential first-round pick in May’s draft.

With the injury to Tuitt, there is now an opportunity for Kony Ealy of Missouri and Auburn’s Dee Ford to show off their talents at the scouting combine and leapfrog Tuitt on draft boards.
