C.J. Wilson OK after being struck in head by line drive

After taking a line drive in the head during Spring Training on Tuesday, Los Angeles Angels’ starting pitcher C.J. Wilson was lighthearted in reporting that he was OK.

Wilson took to Twitter and self-reported that everything was fine after his scary moment.

He later confirmed that he passed his concussion tests as well, meaning the incident should not cost him any time.

A little bit of a sense of humor isn’t a bad thing here: ease people’s worries after there have been so many scary incidents on comeback line drives the last number of seasons, right?

Hmm, OK. Still appreciate the ability to laugh about a scary incident, but there’s a fine line here, and you could rub people the wrong way joking around about head injuries, especially given the frightening moments with guys like Brandon McCarthy and Juan Nicasio, among others, in recent seasons.

Oh boy.

Listen, this isn’t a huge deal, but C.J. ought to consider taking the rest of the night off from Twitter.
