CW Casts Michelle Harrison as Nora Allen in The Flash

CW has nabbed yet another member of the cast for their upcoming Arrow spinoff series The Flash. According to Deadline, the network has cast actress Michelle Harrison in the role of Barry Allen’s mother Nora in the series.

Now, if you have been watching Arrow, this casting decision may confuse you just a little bit. In his debut episode in Arrow, which was entitled “The Scientist,” Barry Allen spoke of his Mother’s death. This leaves many to wonder what her role in the new series is going to be.

One could assume that she will be in flashbacks to Barry’s younger life; however, we will have to wait until the show debuts to know for sure what her involvement will be.

Harrison is joining a cast that is developing pretty nicely. As you know, Grant Gustin has been cast as Barry Allen, the man who will ultimately become The Flash. Also cast in the series is Law & Order’s Jesse L. Martin and The Game’s Candice Patton, who will play Detective West and his daughter Iris.

Also recently joining the cast is John Wesley Shipp, the man who portrayed Barry Allen in the 1990 version of the television series. The network is being very quiet about the role he will play in the series.

Do you think the new CW series will do the franchise justice? How do you feel about the casting decisions that have been made thus far? Sound off in the comments below and let us know what you think.
