After flirting with the idea of adding DeAndre Liggins for the past 48 hours, the Miami Heat have gone ahead and inked the swingman to a 10-day contract and will be trying him out to see if he can contribute to their push for a third straight NBA title.
The Heat made the announcement of Liggins’ signing on their official website on Tuesday morning.
The Miami HEAT announced today that they have signed guard DeAndre Liggins to a 10-day contract from their NBA Development League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Liggins was most recently a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder in his NBA career, but was waived after felony domestic violence charges were filed against him. Those charges have since been dropped and the Heat have picked up Liggins to both straighten him out and use his talents to their advantage.
It’s just a 10-day contract, meaning Liggins could be back on the market in a week and a half, but for the time being he’s with the Heat and will do his best to prove he deserves a full-time roster spot.
