Oklahoma City Thunder big man Kendrick Perkins left last Thursday’s game against the Miami Heat nursing a groin injury.
Those are never good, obviously, though there was hope Perkins would be able to return to the court in the near future after a bit of rest. That won’t be the case as Perkins will miss the next six weeks of action after undergoing groin surgery.
Kendrick Perkins will miss up to six weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a left groin strain he sustained Thursday against Miami.
Given the time frame, Perkins will essentially miss the rest of the regular season and it’s possible if his recovery doesn’t go flawless, he could miss a bit of the postseason as well.
All that said, Perkins wasn’t exactly a cog in the Thunder’s lineup as he was only logging 19 minutes a game.
Hopefully Perkins will return healthy for the playoffs as that’s when the Thunder will most need him.
