NBA Rumors: San Antonio Spurs maintain interest in Danny Granger

If Danny Granger is to work a buyout with the Philadelphia 76ers (which at this point seems to be a bit of a tossup), the San Antonio Spurs remain interested.

That’s the word from ESPN’s Marc Stein, who says he continues to hear whispers that the Spurs have interest in the veteran forward.

Whispers persist that San Antonio has interest in Danny Granger … IF Granger goes ahead with extricating himself from Philly via buyout

The fact that Granger has engaged in buyout talk with the Sixers seems to give good indication that he’d like to play for a contender rather than ‘re-establish his value’ with the Sixers for the final few months of the season.

In addition to the Spurs, the Miami Heat have also been linked to Granger – though they reportedly have their eyes on other players like Caron Butler.

The Spurs have also been linked to Beno Udrih and Metta World Peace, both of whom were recently released by the New York Knicks.

Regardless, it appears as if Granger will have his choice of suitors if he is bought out.
