Nuggets’ Ty Lawson out against Blazers

The Denver Nuggets will continue to play shorthanded tonight as they host the Portland Trailblazers.

Ty Lawson will not start tonight for the Nuggets, leaving the newly acquire Aaron Brooks as the team’s starter tonight. Also expect guard Randy Foye to pick up minutes at the point guard spot.

In 2 games with the Nuggets, Brooks has averaged 13 points and 4.5 assists.

The Nuggets have been hit hard this season with injuries. They’ve lost JaVale McGee, Nate Robinson, and Danilo Gallinari for the season.

Lawson has missed the last 6 games with a rib injury suffered against the Detroit Pistons.

Due to a rash of injuries and a tough Western Conference, the Nuggets (25-30) currently sit 8 games back of the 8th seeded Phoenix Suns.

Lawson has averaged career highs of 18 points and 8.8 assists this season for the Nuggets.
