Over the weekend, Texas A&M Aggies linebacker Darian Claiborne and defensive lineman Isaiah Golden were arrested on misdemeanor charges. Claiborne was booked on disorderly conduct, while Golden was arrested for pot possession.
Wasting no time, the university has decided to suspend both layers immediately and indefinitely and “from there each case is reviewed independently,” according to the Dallas Morning News.
Last season, Claiborne started nine games and was named to the All-SEC Freshman Team, while Golden started in six games.
Claiborne was also arrested in December of last year, which caused him to be suspended for the Chick-fil-A Bowl. At that time, Claiborne was arrested for possession of a dangerous drug and possession of less than two ounces of marijuana. With his latest incident, we will have to wait and see whether or not the university decides to hand him down some severe punishment.
Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin did not comment on either player’s status with the team.
