Wizards’ Trevor Booker leaves game against Magic

Just when the Washington Wizards lost one big man, they find themselves hopeful that another won’t be joining him.

Power forward Trevor Booker left the game against the Orlando Magic after suffering an ankle injury.

The team found out yesterday that starting forward Nene would be out 4-6 weeks, so the injury to Booker can be a huge blow to the team, especially if it’s found to be serious.

The Wizard are currently 28-28 and fighting for a playoff spot.

Booker played 16 minutes and tallied 6 rebound and zero points while filling in for Nene.

Booker will attempt to come back and play, but if he can’t, expect Al Harrington and Chris Singleton to get plenty of court time.

The team is also without big man Kevin Seraphin due to a knee injury.

The team is expected to sign big man Drew Gooden to a 10-day contract in the wake of Nene’s news.

Booker has averaged 6.3 points and 5.5 rebounds this season.
