The 2014 Winter Olympics are in the rear-view mirror, and the NHL season is back on. The Buffalo Sabres and Boston Bruins are set to play in their first game in nearly 20 days, and a big storyline will be how each squad’s Olympians return and play.
The B’s sent several players to Sochi, and will be looking for big efforts from the likes of Loui Eriksson and Zdeno Chara. On the other end of the ice, Ryan Miller will have to shake off the fact that the United States didn’t give him a long look as the team’s No. 1 goalie during the Winter Games.
That distinction went to Jonathan Quick of the Los Angeles Kings, who couldn’t get enough scoring help to bring home a medal. Boston is the top team in the Atlantic Division and will look to continue to add to the current seven-point margin that they have over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Buffalo is all but out of the playoff race, and any game over the next 10 days could be Miller’s last as a member of the Sabres. Could that be the case against Boston? Time will tell, but it appears likely that he’ll be given the nod in this one. Looking for how and where to catch the game online or locally? Look no further.
