Carey Price leaves Canadiens practice, favors leg according to reports

Carey Price faced one shot in practice for the Montreal Canadiens, and then skated off the ice with a possible injury. It was initially reported that the goalie was possibly just sitting out of an optional team skate, but it turns out that this wasn’t the case. Montreal’s practice was a must, and so the missing netminder raises injury concerns.

This is bad news for a Canadiens team that will be looking to springboard off of Price’s incredible play during the Winter Olympics. It’s not clear at this point whether or not the apparent injury is serious, but the netminder appeared to be favoring his leg.

Montreal is in the thick of the playoff hunt, and currently is in third place in the Atlantic Division. They went into the Olympic break on a three-game win streak, and were likely hoping to continue to climb up the standings with a confident Price in goal. They’ll have to put those plans on hold, at least for the time being.

The Canadiens have recalled netminder Dustin Tokarski, and Price won’t be in the lineup tonight.
