Chelsea fans allegedly stabbed before Champions League game vs. Galatasaray

Prior to a Champions League match on Wednesday between Chelsea and Galatasaray, the Press Association Sport is reporting that two Chelsea supporters have been stabbed in Istanbul. The good news is that both victims are reportedly alive and suffered minor injuries that did not require hospitalization.

The situation is believed to have taken place at a bar around Taksim Square.

Chelsea is aware of the situation and issued a brief statement before reminding their fans of the safest way to travel to the game.

“We are aware of the reports and at this stage we don’t have anything more to say,” a spokesperson told Press Association Sport. “We’re in touch with the club and Turkish authorities.”

The match between Chelsea and Galastaray promises to be exciting, but let’s hope that fans can enjoy the game today without having to fear for their safety.
