Kings at Avalanche: live stream, start time, TV info and more

The Colorado Avalanche and New York Islanders are set to square off now that the NHL regular season can continue. The league has been all but shut down as the Winter Olympics have gone on in Sochi, but hockey fans will now be able to turn their attention back to the playoff push.

There’s no shortage of exciting storylines as the league enters the final few weeks of the regular season.

The Avalanche and Islanders are two teams that are headed in two different directions. New York lost its best player to injury in Sochi. John Tavares is done for the year following a horrendous knee injury,  and that all be ends New York’s chances of making the playoffs.

It’ll only be a matter of time before Thomas Vanek and a few other pending-free agents are dealt out of town for picks and prospects, ending a disappointing season on Long Island. The Avalanche, on the other hand, have been one of the most surprising teams in the NHL this season.

New head coach Patrick Roy came in and executed his vision wonderfully. He’s getting the most out of a young, fast roster and Colorado appears poised to make a run at the playoffs.
