The New Jersey Devils have come on in fits and starts this season, but Martin Brodeur is of the belief that the team needs to finish the campaign on a rampage to make the playoffs. The veteran goaltender has done just about everything there is to do in the NHL, so when he makes predictions, it’s wise to listen.
Devils’ Martin Brodeur: We need to win 15 of last 23 games to have a shot at making the playoffs. http://t.co/9lh3V4KHZU

New Jersey is currently in seventh place in the wide-open Metropolitan Division. They are three points out of a playoff spot as play resumes following the 2014 Winter Olympics, and the Devils will need to outplay a handful of solid teams to make the postseason.
They’ll need to catch the Columbus Blue Jackets, Philadelphia Flyers and Carolina Hurricanes, among others. Whether Brodeur is around for the push or not remains to be seen, however. Since the netminder said he’d consider waiving his no-trade clause to play for a contender earlier in the season, there’s been no shortage of rumors surrounding the legendary goalie.
Fans might be tired of hearing about their hero moving on to play elsewhere, but it’s clear at this point that this is Cory Schneider’s team.
