When it comes to free agency, I’m not sure Dwight Howard is the guy to talk to.

But that’s apparently went down recently as the Houston Rockets center says he spoke to New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony about his potential pending free agency.

Howard said he has discussed this fascinating dynamic privately with Anthony on several occasions. “I can’t say (what he’ll do). That’s on him. He’s got to decide. (But) he can’t be what everybody else wants. In this situation, you’ve got to take your heart out of it…So I’d just say for him, take his heart out of it and think with his head and think about business.”

Howard obviously didn’t give an indication as to what Melo was leaning towards, though reading between the lines one could think Howard was suggesting he leave the Knicks – or that the Knicks drastically improve in the extremely near future.

Dwight also went on to suggest that playing for a big market isn’t always the best for business if that big market team is a loser.

Shots fired?
