Red Wings vs Canadiens: live stream, start time, TV info and more

The Detroit Red Wings are set to take on the Montreal Canadiens in each team’s first game following the Winter Olympics. Both squads sent a number of players to Sochi to compete in the 2014 Winter Olympics, and we could see plenty of jet lag in play as these two teams square off.

Henrik Zetterberg won’t be in the lineup for the Red Wings against Montreal or in the foreseeable future after injuring his back during the Winter Games. A majority of Detroit’s Olympians played for the Swedish team that came up short against Canada for the gold medal, and it will be interesting to see if they’re able to shake off that dissapointment quickly.

They’ll have to—Detroit was clinging to the No. 8 spot in the Eastern Conference prior to the Olympic break and will need every single point to make the playoffs once again. Montreal has had an up-and-down season. The entered the break on a three-game winning streak though.

Will bringing home a gold medal change the way Carey Price approaches the game? He was outstanding in Sochi, but he’s always been a bit of a whipping boy in Montreal. Now maybe he’ll be left alone to do his business.
