Red Wings vs Canadiens live stream: How to watch online

James Guillory-USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Red Wings and Montreal Canadiens both sent large and important chunks of their roster to Sochi. Detroit sent numerous players to compete for Sweden in the Winter Games, and seeing them bounce back strong in Montreal will be an important step for a team that’s trying to avoid missing the playoffs for the first time in more than two decades.

Detroit will be forced to make that run without captain Henrik Zetterberg. He injured his back while playing for Sweden, and he’ll be out for the foreseeable future. The Olympic break gave several injured Red Wings time to recoup, however. Stephen Weiss might be ready to return to action, while Johan Franzen could be close.

Things went a bit different for the Montreal players in Sochi. P.K. Subban helped Canada win a gold medal, while Carey Price stole the show with his dominating performances during the elimination portion of the tournament. How the young netminder responds to his heightened pedigree will certainly be a story worth keeping an eye on as the Canadiens try to maintain the hot streak that they carried into the Olympic break.

Looking for how to catch these two teams online? Look no further.
