The Sacramento Kings were on the wrong end of a blowout courtesy of the Houston Rockets on Tuesday night – though star center DeMarcus Cousins missed the vast majority of the contest.

Cousins picked up a foul in the second quarter and could be seen laughing to himself about the call.

Referee Courtney Kirkland didn’t appreciate that, so he decided to hand Cousins a technical.

It was a relatively cheap call (assuming Cousins didn’t say anything improper to Kirkland), one that seemingly came from reputation more than actions.

Moments later, Sacramento head coach Michael Malone was seen arguing with Kirkland near the free throw line during a stoppage in play and Cousins began to make his way towards the conversation. Some words were exchanged and Kirkland ejected Cousins, sending the big man into a tirade where he was restrained by teammates and assistant coaches.

Cousins continued to bark at Kirkland as he was escorted off the court though apologized to his teammates and fans after the game.

The T’s were Cousins 14th and 15th of the season. He will face a mandatory one-game suspension after his next technical.
