Last weekend, the Duke Blue Devils and the Syracuse Orange gave us all yet another instant classic in their new rivalry. While the game itself wasn’t as good as the first one, it had just as much drama at the end, with Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim being ejected in the final seconds after arguing a charge call against C.J. Fair.
On Wednesday, Boeheim appeared on the Dan Patrick Show and talked a bit about the incident, while admitting that he did indeed make a mistake on his part.
For the veteran coach, one of the best of all-time, it was a costly mistake as that technical foul he was assessed let Duke go to the foul line for four shots that sealed the Orange’s fate and made sure they would no longer be the number team in the country.
After the loss, which came right after the huge upset at the hands of the Boston College Eagles, Syracuse dropped to just fifth in the rankings in Monday’s polls that were released.
