Earlier today, the Oakland Athletics and the Chicago White Sox were able to come to work out a trade that would send shortstop Jake Elmore to the A’s for either a player to be named later or cash according to official Twitter handle.

Elmore spent the year with the Houston Astros, hitting two home runs, six RBI’s and a batting line of .242/.313/.325. The 26 year old infielder was claimed by the White Sox back in late November.

He was recently designated for assignment by the White Sox this month. Elmore may not be expected to make the Opening Day roster, but could provide some depth if they decide to keep him on board.

Andy Parrino, 28, was designated for assignment this morning by the Oakland Athletics as a corresponding move.
