The Columbus Blue Jackets continue their quest to make the playoffs in the 2013-14 NHL season, while the New Jersey Devils try to stay alive as well. That’s the state of mind each team will likely be in as they return to action following the 2014 Winter Olympic break.
Columbus isn’t healthier than they were prior to the Winter Games. They lost Fedor Tyutin for the next few weeks, which leaves a big hole on their top defensive-pairing. Luckily for them, they have one of the top young defenders in the world in Ryan Murray. Against the Devils, he could get his first shot as a go-to guy for the team.
At the other end of the rink, the Devils are also trying to stay afloat in the jam-packed Metropolitan Division. If New Jersey can come up with a win against the Blue Jackets, they’ll be tied with Columbus in the standings and within a single point of the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.
Will the Jackets be able to continue their strong hockey despite the strong layoff? Or will the Devils take them down? Tune in to find out. Here’s how:
