Brooklyn Nets at Portland Trail Blazers final socre: Portland defeats Brooklyn 124-80

The Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Brooklyn Nets 124-80 at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.  The Blazers improved to 40-18, and the Nets fell to 26-29

The Trail Blazers outscored the Nets by 15 points in the second quarter to take a 58-34 lead at halftime.  The Nets managed to outscore the Blazers by one point in the third, but the game got out of hand in the fourth with Portland scoring 42 points to Brooklyn’s 21.

The 44-point margin of victory is something the Nets will want to forget in a hurry.

Portland top performers: Mo Williams scored 21 points along with six rebounds and seven assists.  Will Barton netted 20 points, collected 11 boards, and dished out four assists.  Nicolas Batum scored 19 points, grabbed six boards, and dropped six dimes.  Damian Lillard finished with 14 points, and Robin Lopez added 11 points and eight rebounds.

Brooklyn top performers: Deron Williams scored 12 points along with three assists and three steals.  Joe Johnson added 11 points, and Mason Plumlee finished with 10 points and two rebounds.

Next game: The Blazers play the Nuggets at 10 pm ET on Saturday.  The Nets play at Denver tomorrow at 10:30 pm ET on TNT.
