The Winnipeg Jets and Phoenix Coyotes will return to action later on today after most players on both teams received a bit of a vacation during the 2014 Winter Olympics. The biggest news ahead of the contest is that the Jets will get Evander Kane back. He missed Winnipeg’s six games prior to the Winter Games with a hand infection, but has finally been cleared to play.
He’ll be looking to make an impact on a team that has been steadily climbing up the NHL standings since making a coaching change. The Jets have 62 points, but sit only two points out of the final Wild Card seed in the Western Conference. Sitting two points ahead of them in the Conference?
These same Coyotes.
Needless to say, this is an important contest that really boils down to a four-point game for the Jets and Desert Dogs. Phoenix was playing some so-so hockey prior to the Olympic break, and will try to get back on the winning side of the ledger against a Jets team that has been playing some hungry hockey lately.
Who’ll come out on top of this important game? Tune in to find out. Here’s how.
