Terrible news out of Miami this morning as TMZ has reported former Hurricanes football player JoJo Nicolas has succumb to injuries suffered in a horrific car crash earlier this week.

Nicolas was reportedly driving a Lexus that somehow smashed into the back of a semi truck, lodging the sports car under the back of the truck’s trailer on Tuesday morning.

Amazingly, Nicolas survived the crash though was taken to a local Miami hospital in critical condition.

Unfortunately, Nicolas died on Wednesday evening.

Nicolas was driving a silver Lexus that plowed into the back of a big rig on a Miami highway early Tuesday morning. Emergency responders raced to the scene and transported Jojo to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

But Jojo’s condition took a turn for the worse Wednesday and he passed at 5pm.

Officals are said to be still investigating the cause of the crash and have yet to rule out alcohol.

The 24-year-old played for the Miami Hurricanes during the 2007 to 2011 seasons and had a brief stint with the New York Giants in 2012.
