Of the two top LSU Tigers wide receivers that entered the 2014 NFL Scouting Combine last week in Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry, it was definitely the former who showed that he has the potential to be something great, and apparently what he did put on display in Indianapolis has people thinking he could be gone to a team on the first day come the NFL Draft.
After running a 4.43 in the 40-yard dash and coming in the top three in both the 20 and 60-yard shuttle, Beckham opened a lot of eyes and NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks believes that his stock soared.
“It’s hard to find a more dangerous playmaker in the open field than Beckham. He is a speedster with exceptional quickness and burst, yet he has the body control to run every route in the book. Factor in his skills as a dynamic return man, it’s not a surprise that his name is moving up the charts on draft boards across the league.”
While some people discredit its purpose, this is why the NFL Combine still matters.
