Tampa Bay Lightning forward Martin St. Louis is hoping to be traded before next week’s NHL trade deadline, and it looks like he has a certain destination in mind. According to reports, the Tampa Bay captain would prefer to play for the New York Rangers.

TSN’s Darren Dreger is reporting that St. Louis is currently “locked on” the Rangers and the Lightning are letting teams know that is his preferred destination.

There have been previous reports that the Rangers and Lightning have discussed swapping New York captain Ryan Callahan for St. Louis. Whether or not there is any reason to believe those reports remains to be seen but it looks like that would be one of the best offers to make the deal happen and allow St. Louis to get his wish.
