To hear many accounts of Prince Fielder‘s 2013 season, you would assume that the guy was helpless. That’s how much his struggles in the postseason stung the Detroit Tigers and their fan base. So let’s recall for a moment that he still batted .279/.362/.457 with 25 home runs and 106 RBI last season.
Those numbers might have been down from his previous production, but that’s only because his previous production was astronomical.
This dude can still mash. He showed up to Rangers’ camp sans dreadlocks and with a fresh outlook, and it apparently showed in his first spring game as he hit a long home run (video and reaction from MLB.com)
Fielder claimed to get ‘lucky,’ but the visual evidence is to the contrary because that baseball went a long way.
