The small drama between the Texas Tech Red Raiders and ex-quarterback Michael Brewer could be coming to an end as he may have found a place to land outside of the Big 12 Conference in the form of the Virginia Tech Hokies in the ACC, according to a report from the Times-Dispatch.
Back in January, the sophomore announced his decision to transfer from Lubbock as it was clearly seen last season that he was not the starting quarterback. From there, he had considered moves to both the Texas Longhorns and TCU Horned Frogs, both of which were vetoed by Texas Tech because it was a move to within the conference.
A relocation to Blacksburg should satisfy their criteria.
Brewer did see some action for Texas Tech in the 2012 season as a redshirt freshman, but a back injury suffered in the summer of 2013 left him as the odd man out for head coach Kliff Kingsbury heading into last season.
He’s graduating in May, which means that should the Hokies land him, he’ll be eligible to step right in and take over for the departed Logan Thomas.
