Just days after Fox Sports 1 posted their first viewership win over ESPN (in regards to their highlight shows), they’ve now taken another step towards becoming a serious threat to the Worldwide Leader – hiring Colleen Dominguez.

The reporter left ESPN earlier this year in a bit of a shocking fashion (although her contract was up), though it appears we now know why.

Via Fox Press release:

Accomplished journalist Colleen Dominguez joins FOX Sports to serve its family of channels as a reporter and feature contributor, including FOX Sports 1’s FOX SPORTS LIVE, the network’s nightly news, highlights and opinion show. The announcement was made today by Scott Ackerson, FOX Sports Executive Vice President, Studio Production.

Dominguez, who had a ten-year run at ESPN was used heavily, appearing on SportsCenter, Outside the Lines and Outside the Lines Nightly in addition to being one of their West Coast reporters.

It’s currently not known what type of role Dominguez will be taking on with Fox Sports.

Dominguez’s television career began in Los Angeles as a reporter for KTLA in 1995.

She’s most famous for the only person to grab a live interview with Shaquille O’Neal on the day he left the Los Angeles Lakers organization.
