Jaime Garcia delayed 2 weeks in throwing for Cardinals

A familiar face returned to Cardinals Spring Training camp today, although he’s still a ways from participating in a throwing program.

Jaime Garcia, who is suffering from bursitis, told media members he’s still about 10-15 days away from beginning a program, says Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Garcia had his season cut short last year, making only 9 starts for the Cardinals, but pitching to a solid 5-2 record with a 3.58 ERA. The 27-year old lefty is hoping to join St. Louis’ rotation this season.
