NFL Rumors: Chris Cook wants to re-sign with Minnesota Vikings
By Josh Hill
After looking like a first-round bust at the beginning of his career, cornerback Chris Cook is looking to turn things around both on and off the field and become the No. 1 corner the Minnesota Vikings so desperately need. According to Pioneer Press, Cook wants to re-sign with the Vikings and prove himself under the new regime of Mike Zimmer.
"“If they want me to come back, I would love to come back,” Cook said Thursday in a phone interview. “But ultimately it’s not my decision. So I’m just waiting and working out. … I would be more than happy to come back. I really enjoyed the guys I played with.”"
As was pointed out in the article from the Pioneer Press, the old regime wasn’t too keen on Cook as he had off the field issues and was getting burned too often while on the field.
But a new regime means new evaluation and another chance for Cook. There’s no saying he’s going to for sure get another shot with the Vikings, but given their lack of talent at cornerback, they don’t have many options.
