No, no – we’re not talking about 2014 NFL Draft prospect Derek Carr, but rather older brother David Carr.

The former first overall pick of the 2002 NFL Draft, selected by the Houston Texans, is reportedly attempting to ‘resume’ his NFL comeback.

That’s the word from Mike Garafolo on Twitter.

"Sullivan will also work with David Carr in the coming weeks as David attempts to resume his NFL career. Sullivan coached Carr w/ NYG."

The 35-year-old Carr never lived up to his expectations and spent the vast majority of his career as a backup after failing with the Texans.

A former Fresno State product, Carr worked out for multiple teams last season (including the Dallas Cowboys) but never stuck on any roster. He most recently ‘played’ for the New York Giants in 2012 (2013 preseason as well) and holds a career quarterback rating of 74.9.

Granted, teams could certainly do worse in regards to their third string quarterback – but Carr likely isn’t to be in heavy demand come open free agency and will struggle to find a home.
