The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Utah Jazz 99-79 at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. The Cavs improved to 24-36, and the Jazz fell to 21-37.
Cleveland point guard Kyrie Irving scored 21 points, dished out 12 assists, and collected 10 rebounds for his first career triple-double.
The Cavs were down by two at halftime, but played lights out in the second half to win by twenty points. In addition to Irving’s stellar performance, power forward Tristan Thompson registered a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Center Spencer Hawes added a double-double as well with 13 points and 16 rebounds.
Utah shot terribly from the field, 28 for 80 (35%). Shooting guard Gordon Hayward led the Jazz with 18 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and two blocks. Small forward Richard Jefferson netted 13 points and collected four rebounds. Point guard Alec Burks finished with 11 points, three rebounds, and three assists.
