The New York Knicks are having a very disappointing season.
Just a season ago, they were actually the #2 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs but that seems like 10 years ago. With the losses mounting and the off court distractions increasing by the day, the season has become lost. Now former sixth man of the year JR Smith is questioning the team’s heart according to the New York Post:
“We’re not playing like [we will turn it around], that’s for sure, ’’ Smith said. “It’s not a mental thing. It’s a heart thing. We’re letting people score 50 points in the paint over and over again. We ain’t going to win games like that.
“Guys getting open, hitting shots, running around, high-fiving, laughing, joking. You’re not going to win. I’m not into knocking somebody down and hurting somebody, but we got to do something. We got to stick up for ourselves. We’re letting teams do what they want to.
“It’s about testing people’s heart.”
I could talk at length at the pot meeting the kettle on this one considering JR is the biggest prankster on the team. It may be time for the Knicks to just blow this team up and try to really rebuild.
