We know one thing – barring a trade, Kevin Love will be a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves next season. But beyond that, it’s up in the air.
Love holds a player option for the 2015-16 season, one that many expect he will exercise allowing him to become a free agent, which includes Joel Brigham of Basketball Insiders.
That guy hates losing and has been mired in mediocrity for six years. I think he uses his buyout and considers situations in L.A. or Chicago, honestly. Bigger markets, winning organizations, and a much-needed change from Minnesota. Those fans don’t want to lose him, obviously, but he’s KG Part II. Great individual player on a team that just can’t put guys around him. Sad end, but it’s coming.
Tough words, but a lot of truth to them as well.
The Bulls and Lakers could potentially have the space to sign Love if he becomes a free agent after the 2014-15 season, though it’s difficult to speculate that they will given there is still an entire offseason and regular season before Love could potentially become a free agent.
