The Phoenix Suns defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 116-104 at US Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona. The Suns improved to 34-24, and the Cans fell to 23-35.
Goran Dragic scored 40 points along with five assists and three rebounds to lead the Suns past the Cans. The 40 points are a career-high for Dragic.
Suns power forward Markieff Morris added 18 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Power forward Marcus Morris scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. Shooting guard Gerald Green scored 12 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Point guard Ish Smith finished with 10 points and six assists.
The Pelicans played well, but they committed 26 fouls to Phoenix’s 15. The extra fouls led to 11 more made free-throws by the Suns.
Cans power forward Anthony Davis scored 32 points, collected nine rebounds, dished out two assists, and stole the ball three times. The kid does it all. Shooting guard Eric Gordon scored 21 points along with four assists and two steals. Small forward Tyreke Evans finished with 14 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
