Former South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore is all too familiar with knee injuries. He’s blown out each of his knees but continues to work hard in hopes of contributing for the San Francisco 49ers offense.

Now I remember the injury Lattimore sustained against the Tennessee Volunteers back in 2012. He took a hand off and bounced to the outside, only to get wrapped up and that’s when the whole world seen his leg just flopping there.

Having going through knee injuries myself, pain shot through my body which caused me to immediately grab both of my knees. I thought his playing career was over for sure, but he was able to get himself back in shape after recovering and now he’s in the National Football League.

According to the USA Today, Lattimore says there’s no doubt that he’ll be ready for Week 1 of the 2014 season.

"“I feel faster than I ever was. But my quickness is still coming back. Getting stronger and making sure my balance is right – those are the two main things I’ve been working on. I feel close. I really do. I feel very close.” Marcus Lattimore via USA Today."

Marcus also knows that he can’t go out there and try to be Superman on the first day. He understands that he’s going to have to ease himself into the mix, considering he hasn’t played in a year. Hopefully he’s able to keep himself healthy and show us professional football fans what he has to offer.
