The Phoenix Suns defeated the Atlanta Hawks 129-120 at US Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona.  The Suns improved to 35-24, and the Hawks fell to 26-32.

The Suns led 79-65 after the first two quarters, and shot 55% from the field over the entire game.

Atlanta should be given credit for playing much better defense in the second half, and giving themselves a chance to win.  However, Suns shooting guard Gerald Green made four of four free throws over the final 30 seconds to seal the deal.

Green led the Suns with 33 points, and went five for eight from downtown.  Power forward Markieff Morris added 21 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.  Shooting guard Goran Dragic netted 19 points, grabbed five boards, and dished out eight assists.  Power forward Marcus Morris scored 18 points and collected nine boards.  Small forward P.J. Tucker finished with 10 points and six assists.

It was a difficult loss for Atlanta. They shot 52% from the field, and gave a strong defensive effort in the second half.

Point guard Jeff Teague scored 29 points, dished out nine assists, and collected six rebounds.  Power forward Mike Scott netted 20 points along with five rebounds, two assists, and three steals.  Shooting guard Kyle Korver added 18 points, four rebounds, and three assists.  Shooting guard Louis Williams scored 15 points along with three assists, and power forward Elton Brand finished with 13 points, six rebounds, and four assists.
